Caulfield Racecourse is situated 6kms from the city (20 minutes) along Dandenong Road. Signs indicate the turn off. Melways Ref: Map 68 E1


Parking around Caulfield Racecourse is extremely limited during the Spring Carnival. Members with parking passes will have access to parking as usual in one of the current Members parking areas. Guineas car pass holders will be allotted exclusive use of the Tabaret Car Park, enter via Normanby Road.

Public Transportation
Caulfield Station is on the Dandenong and Frankston train lines. Trains depart from Flinders Street Station every 20 minutes on weekends. Caulfield Station is only about fifty metres from the racecourse. Trams also stop within a close walk of the main gate. No 3 trams leave every 12 minutes from Flinders Street Station and take approximately 35 minutes.

Ticket Collection: Pre-booked Ticketmaster tickets can be collected from the ticketing booth opposite the main gate on race day.

Accessible Seating

There is wheelchair access to all facilities at Caulfield Racecourse. No special tickets are required.


Conditions of Entry:

The Club has stipulated Conditions of Entry to the Racecourse. These conditions are strictly enforced and are communicated via signage at the entrances and via race book advertisements, and can also be found at

Concession tickets are not available via Ticketmaster. No Student Concessions will be available for BMW Caulfield Cup Day. All other concession tickets will be available on actual race days adjacent to the Main Gate. A policy of selling one ticket per valid concession card will be applied at the selling window and checks will be in place at the turnstiles upon entry.
The Melbourne Racing Club has strict rules relating to the Responsible Service of Alcohol. Persons over 18 and under 25 years of age and wishing to purchase alcohol are required to obtain and wear an age verification wrist band at all times.
Any child under the age of 18 will be refused entry unless accompanied by an adult and must also be in possession of valid identification if entering on a concession ticket.
The following items are considered Prohibited Goods and will not be permitted to be brought into the venue:

Alcoholic beverages and Glassware
Sporting goods such as footballs or tennis balls
Flares or other explosive or inflammable goods or equipment
Firearms, knives or any other implement or item that in the opinion of the Club may be used as a weapon

Laser pointers and any other device that in the opinion of the Racing Stewards may interfere with thoroughbred horses
Folding or camp chairs table and market umbrellas
Mobile structures and tents
Animals other than Guide Dogs
Flags and Banners
Any item that may be considered offensive by the Club`s authorised representative

Horse Movement Safety – Only licensed trainers, strappers and industry officials are allowed into the restricted horse zones. Signs are clearly displayed prohibiting access to these areas.

Please note that it is a condition of entry to the racecourse premises that all bags and other carriers (such as drink coolers) are allowed to be searched for Prohibited Goods by the Club`s authorised representatives. The Club has the right to conduct metal detector searches for any of the Prohibited Goods. If found, the Club`s authorised representative will not allow Prohibited Goods to be brought on to the racecourse premises. Club`s authorised representatives may also prohibit entry to the racecourse premises of any person found to be in the possession of Prohibited Goods.
Patrons refusing to be searched by the Club`s authorised representatives or who are in possession of Prohibited Goods are deemed to be undesirable persons as per regulation XXV of the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Regulations and will be refused entry to the racecourse premises and/or expelled from the racecourse premises.
A person found breaching the conditions of entry is not entitled to a refund of any money paid for admission to the racecourse premises.
These measures are in the interest of patron safety and enjoyment and the co-operation of the public in assisting with these measures is greatly appreciated.
Patrons should be aware that their participation in the Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival may be photographed and/or recorded by visual and/or audio means and that all such recordings/photographs may be used by the MRC for future promotional and advertising activities.
All copyright in photographs, audio and visual recordings of the patron`s involvement in the Event will be assigned to the Melbourne Racing Club.
