About
Design Excellence 2014 - Cultural Precinct Planning – connecting Sydney’s cultural jigsaw
Cultural precincts are central to a city’s reputation and internationally recognised as drivers of creativity, innovation and economic growth.
Over the next decade, Sydney’s leading cultural institutions will be undertaking ambitious capital development programs which will redefine their physical connection to the city. How do we make the most of this opportunity to re-energise our city, improve visitors’ experiences and better connect our cultural assets?
Hear from arts and culture thought-leader Adrian Ellis, Director of the Global Cultural Districts Network, on his experience in developing cultural precincts around the world. See the visions being put forward by the Art Gallery of NSW, State Library of NSW and Powerhouse Museum. And get involved in a panel discussion with leading national experts moderated by Fenella Kernebone.
