AN EVENING WITH DELTA GOODREM “THE TOP OF MY WORLD SHOWS”
WITH SPECIAL GUEST RACHAEL LEAHCAR
NEW SINGLE ‘DANCING WITH A BROKEN HEART’ RELEASED AUGUST 10th
Dainty Group and NINE LIVE are proud to announce that chart-topping Australian songstress Delta Goodrem is heading home to perform a limited run of intimate and exclusive theatre concerts in October and November. Delta will play shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, thrilling fans with all her hits, plus previewing songs from her highly-anticipated new album, Child of the Universe.
TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE THURSDAY 16TH AUGUST
To coincide with this exciting tour announcement, the second new single from Child of the Universe, ‘Dancing with a Broken Heart’, will be released digitally through Sony Music on Friday 10 August. The song, lifted from Delta’s fourth studio album which is due out later this year, is an emotively-potent, hi-energy, instant pop classic, that Australian radio has embraced, making the song the NO 1 most added track at radio last week.
Excited to be touring Delta said “With these shows, I really want to bring people into my environment, make it feel like we are at my home, in my living room, so they can discover my new songs. I just can’t wait to get my band together to share these new songs and, of course, also sing the songs everyone knows.”
Opening these concerts for Delta will be inspiring new talent, Rachael Leahcar. As all of Australia knows, Delta has a very special bond with Rachael, having mentored the young songbird to the grand final of The Voice. Rachael, whose debut album entered the ARIA charts at No 5, has a pure voice that transcends and amazes live on stage.
For Delta, it’s all about the music and her songs have always reflected exactly where the singer/songwriter finds herself in her own life. And the new single, ‘Dancing with a Broken Heart’, again does just that. It’s a song about flying in the face of adversity, overcoming the negative forces that try to pull you down. ‘Dancing with a Broken Heart’ will inspire everyone to pick themselves up off of the canvas and stay positive about the future.
"This single is about finding strength and being inspired, to know that there can and will be something even better taking shape in life. No matter what happens, there are good things to come, so don’t look back. My longtime friends John Shanks, Vince Pizzinga and I wrote this song acoustically and then started building the track to where it ended up in a upbeat yet sentimental place of courage and strength" says Delta.
‘Dancing with a Broken Heart’ reveals a different musical and emotional scope to Child of the Universe’s first hit single, ‘Sitting On Top of the World’, which is already accredited double platinum in sales. It all marks the beginning of a new chapter in Delta’s extraordinary career which has seen her notch up eight number 1 singles, three number 1 albums, sell in excess of 6 million albums worldwide, and won her ten ARIA Awards.
Delta is currently back in Australia, undertaking a national promotional tour in support of the release of ‘Dancing with a Broken Heart’ and is thrilled to be on the road, she said "Being back in each city connecting with my fans and local media will be a lot of fun. I want to thank everyone for all the support they have given me this year".
Delta will be stopping in at Perth, Adelaide,
Townsville as well as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane on her nationwide whistle stop promotional tour with in-store signings and performances in Adelaide and Perth.

In-depth Biography
Australian singer/actress Delta Goodrem got her start on the popular soap opera Neighbours, and parlayed her fame from the show into a singing career. Her first album, the million-plus-selling Innocent Eyes, arrived in 2003 and featured songs co-written by pop songwriters such as Cathy Dennis. At that time, Goodrem was splitting her time between Neighbours and her pop career, but her diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma forced her to slow down and re-evaluate her life. The direction for what was to become her next batch of songs came from Goodrem's physical and mental therapy. Recruiting a team of collaborators that included Dennis, Gary Barlow, and songwriter/producer Guy Chambers, who had also worked with pop stars including Robbie Williams, Goodrem used her experiences -- good and bad -- to create Mistaken Identity, which was released in the U.S. in summer 2005. Her next project involved a different team, including Westlife's Brian McFadden for his pop acumen, Stuart Crichton for his dance smarts, and Nashville-based Tommy Lee James for ballads. The result, an album titled Delta and released through Decca, appeared in 2008. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
