ABOUT WA FESTIVAL OF CRICKET

BACKGROUND

Since the iconic Lilac Hill Festival Match concluded in 2008, cricket loving West Australian's have been patiently waiting for a relaxed festival-styled cricket event to take it's place.

The wait was over in December 2013 when the inaugural WA Festival of Cricket (FOC) was held at Aquinas College in Perth's southern suburbs with tremendous success. Legendary names such Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting & Stuart Macgill all lined up for the Australians while Carl Hooper and Mushtaq Ahmed wound back the clock for the World side.

The Festival of Cricket philosophy is simple - to provide the WA public and corporate community an experience the traditional format cannot, a rare chance to see our heroes back on the field, reminding us of just why these icons of the game are now referred to as legends of world cricket.

VISION

Now an annual fixture on our Corporate Event Calendar, the WA Festival of Cricket encompasses everything we love about the game - Personalities, Mateship, Excitement & Good Times.

The Festival of Cricket is to be held only a short 10 minute drive from the city on the playing fields of the prestigious Aquinas College. It provides all guests who are privileged to attend the comfort of CBD venue with ample parking and transport options.

Each year the Festival of Cricket will give each of us an opportunity to sit back and appreciate just how good our past cricketing legends were!!

FORMAT

A day in the field isn't quite as appealing to our Legends as it used to be, so to keep the day full of excitement the Festival of Cricket Legends Match follows the exciting Twenty20 format. This will result in some great entertainment with plenty of sixes, bags of wickets and of course some good honest humour!
