MAC MILLER

RETURNING TO AUSTRALIA’S EAST COAST FOR THE GO:OD AM TOUR IN JANUARY 2016

Illusive and Frontier Touring are pleased to announce that innovative American rap prodigy Mac Miller will return for the GO:OD AM Tour which hits Australia’s East Coast in January 2016.

This will be Mac’s first time in the country since playing to rave reviews at the last Big Day Out tour, and follows an extensive run of USA dates that sees him on the road for the remainder of the year in celebration of his major-label debut album GO:OD AM (out now through REMember/Warner Bros. Records).

The 17-track release, featuring appearances from Miguel, Lil B, Ab Soul and Little Dragon, debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200 and #32 on the ARIA Album Chart, with tracks like ‘100 Grandkids’, ‘Brand Name’ and ‘Weekend’ receiving acclaim from tastemakers across the globe:

‘It’s lush and crisp, and also diverse’ – New York Times

‘Miller's most upbeat, optimistic release in years.’ – GQ

‘Miller thrives as an entertainer in any environment.’ – Consequence of Sound

‘…his most refined and well put-together project.’ – Pitchfork

Malcolm ‘Mac Miller’ McCormick taught himself piano, bass, guitar and drums as a child and by the age of 14 was rapping for a living. Quickly after graduating from high school, Mac inked a deal with Rostrum Records (home to schoolmate Wiz Khalifa) and eleven much-loved mixtapes followed, raking in millions of YouTube channel views and buzz both on the streets and online in the process.

The 23 year old Pittsburgh native’s first full-length album Blue Side Park was released in 2011; this followed his Best Day Ever mixtape which featured fan-favourite ‘Donald Trump’ the first of Miller’s to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Blue Side Park went straight to the top of the Billboard 200 – the first time an independent rap album had done so since 1995 (Tha Dogg Pound) – and received widespread critical acclaim. Miller’s quick rise to fame saw him picked up by MTV2 to film the reality show Mac Miller and the Most Dope Family.

Not one to sit on his laurels, Miller has constantly revealed new sides of himself to the world – he is a grassroots rapper, horrorcore alter-ego Delusional Thomas, producer Larry Fisherman, artist Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival, owns his own label, is a reality TV star, has released a self-titled jazz album and has created a live tour documentary entitled Live From Space with The Internet.

Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne fans, get ready to welcome back America’s most dope this January!
