The Class of ‘94

Wil Anderson, Dave Hughes & Adam Richard

Cast your mind back to a comedy world without Wil Anderson, Hughesy, Adam Richard and Meshel Laurie.  GOOD LUCK!  They've been around since 1994, when they were all comedy babes bumming around Melbourne, livin' on nothin' but dreams. (Or something.) See them reminisce about the olden days as part of Meshel Laurie Talks Funny.

Sat 4 April @ 5.30pm

Legally Brown (SBS) & WhiteBlack Atcha (ABC2)

Nazeem Hussain, Ronny Chieng & Andy Saunders

At the coal face of cultural upheaval (and comedy television,) Ronnie Chieng, Nazeem Hussein and Andy Saunders have amassed impressive bodies of work. How did it happen? What did their mum's think? And what's next for the changing face of Australian comedy?

The Big Gig

Wendy Harmer & Tim Fergusson

Late last century, a rag tag group of Melbourne comedians was hand-picked to bring stand up and confetti canons to the masses on The Big Gig. Wendy Harmer was their fearless leader, Tim Ferguson was their gorgeous face.  Was it all beer and skittles behind the scenes? Could they ever have imagined the influence they'd have on Australian comedy forever?

Sat 18 April @ 5.30pm

New Joke City

Marty Sheargold & Greg Fleet (with audio from Matt King)

The 1990's were a dangerous time. Gangs ruled the streets and the hood was no place for playas. Well that's what was happening in South Central LA anyway, in Melbourne comedy was booming and the 3 ghetto-est pimps of punchlines around were Greg Fleet, Matt King and Marty Sheargold, who together were New Joke City. They gigged, they ganged, they went camping. This is their story.
