Headlining Rock in the Vines will be Australian rock legend, and bestselling
author, Jimmy Barnes.
Jimmy Barnes is the heart and soul of Australian rock ‘n roll. His nickname “Barnesy”
conjures up images of rock music at an ear-splitting volume – both as a solo artist
and the lead singer of Cold Chisel - and of soul standards given a unique reading.
Over his 40+ year career, Jimmy has been through it all, and lived to tell the tale
which he did in his bestselling memoir, Working Class Boy and is about to do it again
with a second volume, Working Class Man, due for release later this year.. Along the
way, Jimmy has sold more records in Australia than any other domestic rock ‘n’ roll
artist and his live shows are legendary for their intensity. We can’t wait till he rocks
Sutton Grange Winery!
With a career spanning over 30 years, Jon Stevens has had a remarkable journey
as a singer, songwriter and performer. He’s best known as the frontman of legendary
Australian band, Noiseworks, renowned for the hits – No Lies, Hot Chilli Woman,
Take Me Back, and many more. Joining INXS as the “seventh member”, and
maintaining a successful solo career as one of the country’s foremost touring artists.
Last year Jon joined forces with legendary musician, songwriter and producer Dave
Stewart (Eurythmics) to record a new album, Starlight, which was released at the end
of March. This will be a rare opportunity to witness his raw power of one of
Australia’s great singers - Jon Stevens.
Richard Clapton has earned himself a very special place in the history of
Australian contemporary music. A singer / songwriter who combines masterful
poetic insight with a passionate rock ‘n’ roll heart, he has articulated the hopes and
dreams – and the disappointment and disillusionment – of a generation of
Australians. With the dedication of a true artist, he has mapped out the landscape of
the human heart. Richard Clapton is indisputably one of the most influential figures
in Australian rock history. Respected by peers and critics alike for his finely honed
abilities as a musician and songwriter, he has also kept up a steady flow of hits and a
loyal live following over the past two decades. He stands among a very small group
of songwriters who have created timeless classics; songs which explore and reflect
upon the realities of contemporary Australia, remaining fresh and relevant years after
they were written.
Taxiride Formed in 1997, the band consists of Dan Hall, Jason Singh, Tim
Watson and Tim Wild. Taxiride's musical style has changed significantly over the
course of their career—Throughout their history, the band has had multiple lead
singers and songwriters on the majority of their songs. The band continued
performing live until 2010. In 2015 the four original members reformed and have
been performing on the Australian festival circuit as well as selling out their own
shows pumping out the hits-Afterglow, Creeping up Slowly, and the massive hit Get
Set.
