The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne are accessible by car, train or tram. As You Like It: Southern Cross Lawn, Observatory Gate, Birdwood Avenue, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne (opposite the Shrine of Remembrance) Wind in the Willows: Gate F, Birdwood Ave, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne

2, 3 and 4 hour meter parking is available in the streets surrounding the Gardens. Voucher machines operate in Birdwood Avenue, South Yarra.

By Public Transport: Take the train to Flinders Street Station. Then take a tram (3, 5, 8, 16, 64 or 67) to the Domain Road Interchange. Walk towards the Shrine of Remembrance and you will see the Observatory Buildings, which are part of the Gardens. Follow the footpath from here to Birdwood Avenue. For A Midsummer Night's Dream enter through the Observatory Gate located in Birdwood Avenue opposite the Shrine of Remembrance. For The Wind in the Willows continue right along Birdwood Avenue until you reach Gate F. The position of the Box Office depends on each individual show, as several shows may be running in the Gardens at the one time.

Box Office location for “As You Like It”: Observatory Site and Box Office will be open from 1.5 hours prior to each performance. Box Office location for Wind in the Willows : enter Gate F, Birdwood Ave then follow the path for approx 150m. Box Office is open from 1 hour prior to each performance.

There is some disabled access and facilities as part of the Royal Botanical Gardens site.

What to Bring: A blanket or cushion to sit on. A picnic hamper or esky to enjoy a picnic before the show. Snacks can also be purchased at the candy bar and hot meals can be ordered via http://shakespeareaustralia.com.au/prebooked-meals/ Warm clothes as the gardens are cooler in the evening. Insect repellent. Chairs are allowed. However, if you bring your own chair please allow us to seat you appropriately so that those around you do not have an obstructed view. Chairs can also be hired at the door for $5 each.

"As You Like It": children aged under 5 years are not required to have a ticket. "Wind in the Willows": All patrons will be required to purchase a ticket except babes in arms aged under 12 months

The Visitor Centre is located at the Observatory Precinct at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and is open seven days a week.
