Judith Durham given the all clear to complete The Seekers’ Golden Jubilee Tour!

The Seekers’ Golden Jubilee Tour, which was abruptly halted in May due to the sudden illness of Judith Durham, is set to resume after doctors advised her that she is now able to complete the tour.  More good news – due to public demand extra shows have been scheduled in with THE SEEKERS now adding Hobart to the tour.  Tickets for this new show goes on sale Thursday 12 September.

Judith was admitted to hospital after the first Melbourne show on May 14 and diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage.  After three months of rehabilitation, The Seekers - Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Keith Potger and Bruce Woodley - have started rehearsals and the group is eager to complete the tour, which celebrates their 50th year.  The first ten shows, performedthis year, were totally sold out and received outstanding reviews.

Judith said today “I’m thrilled that my doctors have given me the green light to return to the stage.  I’m so much looking forward to joining the boys again on tour, and singing for you all.”

Tickets remain valid for the rescheduled dates as follows:

SYDNEY STATE THEATRE

As the centrepiece of the two-hour performance, the legendary group who put Australia on the international pop music map, will raise the roof with their chart-topping hits “I’ll Never Find Another You”, “A World Of Our Own”, “The Carnival Is Over”, “Morningtown Ride”, “Georgy Girl”, “I Am Australian”, and many unforgettable crowd favourites.   They will take their fans down memory lane with stories, memorabilia and video clips on the big screen.

For the first time in concert The Seekers perform the country-folk classic “Silver Threads And Golden Needles”, which they recorded for ‘The Golden Jubilee Album – 50 Tracks For 50 Years’.

All those fabulous melodies and timeless lyrics will create magic in Australia’s magnificent concert venues.

2012 marked 50 years since The Seekers first sang together in a little coffee shop in Melbourne in 1962.  Little did they know that they would go on to conquer the international music world, and become Australia’s national treasures.
