The Australian production of the smash-hit Billy Elliot the Musical was honoured with wins in seven categories at the 2008 Helpmann Awards Ceremony. The tally of seven trophies equals the record for the most awards for a single show. The four young actors who created the title role shared the Best Actor in a Musical Award and created a new record for the Youngest Helpmann Award Recipients.
