  • Common Problem

by Duyfk on 11/11/25Palais Theatre - St KildaRating: 3 out of 5

This was my first time experience of the HSCC live and unfortunately, I left a little disappointed. This was not due to the performers themselves but due to the person in control of the mixing desk. The first half of the show was a dog's body of sound where each instrument and voice were in competition with each other with the bass guitar and drum winning, overwhelming everything else to the detriment of the talent of the HSCC as a group But, as two friends who work in the live music industry confided, (most mixing desk operators are deaf anyway). The second half was considerably better. Was this because it was more ballad focused? Probably, but the separation between voices and instruments was considerably clearer and more enjoyable. Of the eleven friends and acquaintances that attended, (all sitting in different areas), ten of us came to the same conclusion, and many of us are concert goers for 40 years plus, (so we're very familiar with live music). Would I go to a HSCC concert again? Probably. The band is definitely a wonderful collection of great musicians. However, hopefully next time someone takes a little more interest in what the band sounds like.

  • A great experience

by Caz on 9/11/25Palais Theatre - St KildaRating: 5 out of 5

Great voices and the instrumentals are fantastic especially guitars. They all worked across the stage and you could see that they loved their skills. Good choice of songs and the audience knew all the words to the them. I have already booked for next year in October and fully recommend it. Truly a night to remember and I understand why they are getting so many rave reviews from the actual recording artists.

by Ro on 9/11/25Palais Theatre - St KildaRating: 5 out of 5

So many great hits from the 80s and 90s performed brilliantly. The voices the guitar work a perfect blend. The venue at the Palais St. Kilda was stunning too. A great night

  • Another fabulous performance by the HSCC team!

by John and Leanne on 4/11/25Wrest Point - Sandy BayRating: 5 out of 5

As always, the HSCC performance was wonderful. The song selection was great, as was the on-stage energy. We loved the "coordinated clothing"- made the whole performance seem that little more classy. Roll on new years eve!
