About

Party Like It’s 1985!

It’s time to chase away those lockdown blues! Following rave reviews around the country, The Wedding Singer Musical Comedy will arrive at Sydney’s State Theatre for a strictly limited season this January.

Based on the Hollywood film starring Adam Sandler, The Wedding Singer celebrates all the fun of the ‘80s. Yes, hair is big, collars are up, and it’s packed to the brim with feel-good moments that will put a smile on your face.

Robbie Hart is New Jersey’s number one wedding singer and the life of the party. That is until his own fiancé strands him at the altar. Bitter and broken, Robbie begins to make every wedding as disastrous as his own until a warm-hearted waitress named Julia intervenes. Only trouble is, Julia’s about to be – you guessed it – married! Can Robbie pull off the performance of the decade and win the girl of his dreams?

Featuring an all-star cast including Christian Charisiou as Robbie Hart, lauded by critics as ‘even funnier than Adam Sandler’, beloved music theatre performer Teagan Wouters (Kinky Boots) as Julia, Stephen Mahy (Jersey Boys, Mama Mia) as bad-boy Glen Guglia, Nadia Komazec (School Of Rock, Matilda) as Holly, Ed Deganos (The Lion King) as George, Susan-ann Walker (Xanadu, Les Miserables) as Grandma Rosie, Kirby Burgess (Barnum, Dirty Dancing) as Robbie’s villainous ex-girlfriend Linda, Haydan Hawkins (Miss Saigon) as rocker Sammy, and Hollie James (Shrek, Rocky Horror) as Angie.

Following sold-out performances on Broadway, and across the UK, The Wedding Singer features a sparkling new soundtrack by Matthew Sklar (Elf The Musical, The Prom), lyrics by Chad Beguelin (Aladdin, The Prom), and a book by Beguelin and Tim Herlihy.

Come join the party and just say YES to this adrenaline-charged hit!
