The 80s Mania night was a great flashback to the music of the 1980s 9 please forget the later 80s fashion). There were so many 1980s rock and popstars in this format, but for me the standout acts were The Escape Club and Katrina Leskanich. I had forgotten how much Katrina and The Waves had rocked back in the day, and I was so excited to hear one of my favourite songs of all time ‘Going Down To Liverpool’. And Wang Chung still had that magic as we all ‘had fun tonight’ doing the ‘Dancehall Days’! I want to give a shout out to Steve Williams’ from Wa Wa Nee on guitar – he was fantastic. The Chantoozies kicked off the night well and Brian Mannix followed up with Scott Carne.

  • A great night!

A great flash back to the '80s. So many stars, but for me the standout was Steve Williams' guitar. I had forgotten how Katrina and the Waves had rocked back in the day, and of course Wang Chung still have that magic! Good to see Brian Mannix still has the same spunk and personality and the girls from the Chantoosies looking so good and performing so well. The mix was a little off in the first set IMHO, and maybe a little too loud for our ageing ears towards the end, but on the whole the production was excellent.

  • Disappointing

by Palais fan on 22/3/25Palais Theatre - St KildaRating: 3 out of 5

We are always pleased to see shows at the Palais, but for the first time ever, we left at the interval. The sound was terrible, muffled and impossible to follow the lyrics. People around us said the same. Basically a disappointing experience that we travelled 6 hrs round trip to see.
