About

Last seen in Australia performing at Harbourlife in 2014, Norweigian house music prodigy and arguably one of the most hyped artists on the planet today, KYGO, has today finally announced his return to Australia playing some expectedly massive shows at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Friday October 19 and Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl, Saturday October 20 as part of his Kids In Love Tour.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 2pm Tuesday, July 24.

Breaking through with a sound coined as ‘tropical house’ a brighter, more relaxed style than that of his commercial dance music contemporaries, Kygo, born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, has gone from bedroom producer and pianist to one of the most hyped artists on the planet in an unprecedented amount of time.

The Avicii-inspired producer and DJ first reached #1 on Norway’s VG-lista chart in 2013 with his slow-galloping remix of Seinabo Sey’s ‘Younger’ – and it wasn’t long before that he signed a global recording deal and released his first proper single, ‘Firestone’ featuring Australia’s very own singer/songwriter, Conrad Sewell. Crowned as Spotify’s ‘Breakout Artist of 2015’, his party-starting hits ‘Firestone (feat. Conrad Sewell)’ and ‘Stole The Show (feat. Parson James)’ clocked up gold or platinum certifications in over sixteen countries, propelling him to become the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on the platform – and currently 25th most listened to Artist on Spotify globally.

These, along with additional singles that featured Labrinth, Kodaline and James Vincent McMorrow, preceded his debut full-length LP “Cloud Nine” – again reaching #1in charts across Europe and North America – dubbed “unfailing gorgeous” by Rolling Stone. Continually churning out festival and dancefloor hits, Kygo’s track ‘It Ain’t Me’ featuring Selina Gomez reached Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and amassed more than 700 million streams on Spotify alone – with USA Today declaring it one of 2017’s official songs of the summer.

The 26-year old producer has travelled his way across the globe, performing to huge crowds in Israel, India, Canada the United States and more – playing (and selling out) venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado and California’s Greek Theatre – plus festival appearances in Tokyo, Bueons Aires and Hong Kong for festivals like Ultra and Lollapalooza and a summer residency Ibiza. In 2016, he became the first house music producer to ever perform at an Olympic ceremony – closing out the 2016 Rio Olympics. Kygo’s dominating success has won over the support of fans across the globe. Consistently performing to huge crowds with an epic live show complete with a mesmerizing display of lights, lazers and tropical house realness, Kygo’s return to Australia is expected to be nothing short of epic.
