  • Disappointed

We took a 7 year old grandchild, birthday treat, and found the production, costumes and props quite amateurish. The performers gave a good account of their characters but there was a distinct lack of engagement with the audience. We paid decent money so very disappointed. It was underwhelming.

We were so excited to see this performance, however it felt underdone. Each scene was so fast with minimal character development or connection to the story. We soon realised the show was mostly aimed at young kids…not enjoyable having a nearby toddler cry for the first 10 minutes. The whole thing was over in just over an hour, but we were secretly glad it didn’t go a minute longer.

  • An amazing trip down the rabbit hole…..

We recently attended the Alice in Wonderland theatre performance as a group of five adults, and while we appreciate the effort put into the production, it didn’t quite meet our expectations. Based on the description, we were anticipating a performance that would appeal to a broader audience, including adults, but it became clear that the show was more geared toward children, specifically in the 5-10-year-old range. This was not clearly stated on the website, which left us a bit disappointed. The performance itself was charming, with colorful costumes and lively characters, but the content and pacing felt more suited to younger viewers. The storytelling was simple, and while that might work well for children, we found ourselves hoping for a bit more depth or complexity. We were also expecting more in terms of visual effects or creative set design, but the production relied heavily on basic elements, which didn't create the immersive experience we had hoped for. Overall, it’s likely a great show for families with younger children, but as adults, we left feeling that the performance didn't quite meet the level of excitement or visual spectacle we had anticipated. A bit more transparency on the target age group would have been helpful, as we might have chosen a different event to enjoy with the group
