About
Arctic Monkeys return to Australia in January 2023
Last here in 2019 on a mammoth run of sold-out arena shows, four years on Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O’Malley and Matt Helders make their hugely anticipated live return down under.
The Sheffield band have released six studio albums to date. 2006’s Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not was the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history upon its release, winning the Mercury Music Prize (the band nominated a further three times). It was followed by Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Humbug (2009), Suck It And See (2011), AM (2013), and Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino (2018). With global album sales of over 25 million and a digital fanbase of over 30 million followers, Arctic Monkey’s music has been streamed over nine billion times to date, accruing on average 6.5 million streams daily. They’ve won seven Brit Awards, 20 NME Awards, 5 Q Awards, and nominated for three Grammys.
One of the most successful bands to emerge in the last two decades, Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Tranquility Base Hotel + Casino World Tour’ sold over 625,000 tickets:
‘Just terrific rock’n’roll played by a band at the height of its powers’ – ★★★★ The Age
‘By the time they conclude with ‘R U Mine?’, a bona fide monster that thumps and crashes in all the right places, the 100-minute mix of old and new proves just how strong the Arctic Monkeys catalogue is, and how well they know where and when to sequence their material in an explosive live spectacle’ – triple j
From August 2022, the band will headline festivals across the globe including Lowlands, Pukkelpop, Rock En Seine, Reading and Leeds, Electric Picnic, Primavera Sound and more, before ringing in the new year at Australia’s Lost Paradise, Falls Festival and Heaps Good.
With their acclaimed kaleidoscopic sound, Melbourne groove masters Mildlife will open proceedings in Brisbane. The band recently wrapped a slew of northern hemisphere tour dates, with new recording Live From South Chanel Island out now.
Live on stage, Arctic Monkeys are truly second to none. Grab your tickets before they disappear!
