About

Missy Higgins is one of Australia’s most beloved singer/songwriters.

She’s struck a deep and enduring chord with her irresistible melodies and ‘arrow through the heart’ lyrics, delivered by a striking voice that clearly means it.

Since being Unearthed by Triple J back in 2002 when she was still at high school Missy has blazed a trail for female singer/songwriters. She has received 26 ARIA Award nominations and earned five #1’s in her homeland while also enjoying a gold certification in the USA.

2024 is shaping up as a huge year for Missy including her upcoming induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame. In September, she will release a new album called The Second Act - “a kind of sequel” to her hugely influential debut The Sound Of White which is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary. That raw and introspective collection was about taking on the world as a 20-year-old while The Second Act is about taking on the world all over again as a 40-year-old, after the stories you told yourself turned out not to be true. Written, produced, and performed largely on her own, it’s a powerful statement, lead by the acclaimed single “You Better Run”.

The Sound Of White was 2005’s ARIA Album Of The Year featuring the hits ‘Scar’, ’Ten Days’ and ’The Special Two’. Missy’s 2007 follow up, On A Clear Night (featuring North American hit ‘Where I Stood’ plus Australian #1 single ‘Steer’) was the highest selling release in Australia for that year.  After seven years of nonstop touring and recording, Missy quietly took a break from music for several years to pursue a course in Indigenous Studies, as well as making her acting debut in Australian film Bran Nue Dae before returning to music in 2012 with another chart topper - The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle (featuring ‘Everyone’s Waiting’ and ‘Hello Hello’).

Over the last 20 years, The Sound Of White, and Missy’s entire career, have inspired dozens of young Australian women – including major artists like Amy Shark, Gretta Ray, Gordi and Angie McMahon - to sing their own songs in their own ways. As Missy heads into The Second Act of her career she continues to blaze trails – seeking to prove that if great male artists like Paul Kelly and Jimmy Barnes can enjoy lifelong conversations with their audiences then Australian women should be able to do it too.

  • Fabulous show

    by Eliza M on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 4 out of 5

Loved this event and what a fabulous program. Well organised and good info - except for the parking info. It would have been good to know it was a 15-20 minute walk to the venue - for those of us over 70 it was a bit of a shock. The map was very wrong- time to update that please. The parking experience would have been improved with some row markings of some sort and traffic marshalls as we left. Food choices were also very good. Well done.

  • Missy was mesmerising

    by R walt on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 4 out of 5

Missy was fantastic. I really enjoyed the separation of the show. Kate is one of a kind and Ruby fields opened perfectly. Biggest issue was definitely the lack of information about transport. The bus booking was closed by the time I was emailed the information. The parking was a very long cross country walk. A lot of people struggled with having to carry all thier things so far.

  • Lack of exit traffic control and only 3 food outlets..

by Jano on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 2 out of 5

Missy Higgins concert was fabulous, entry and ticketing all good. We found it hard to believe that there were only 3 food outlets for the crowd which meant massive ques and resulted in us missing a significant part of the concert. We were the amongst the first to get back to our car after the concert and near the last to leave 90 minutes later!!!!! The car was parked on an outside fence line exit lane - about half way into the carpark. No one was directing traffic out of the car park. There were no lanes it was a complete shambles. To make matters worse, as we finally exited there were 3 traffic controllers on the main bitumen road waving batons around in one spot achieving nothing.

  • Missy & Kate

by Nette on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 4 out of 5

I went to Missy Higgins at Peter Lehmann winery. It was a fantastic show, the performances were amazing, the venue was good but the parking and drop off area and then the subsequent walk to the venue was ridiculous. There must be a better way of handling a large number of attendees. The cost of parking was $30 and then a 1.5km walk to the venue! The LinkSA return bus ticket cost $33 for a 5 minute drive away from Peter Lehmann. The cost of alcohol and food was extremely overpriced and the wait times at the food trucks was excessive, we actually thought the people sitting next to us had left the concert, but they missed the whole first set of Missy Higgins while waiting for food. Peter Lehmann Wines is a great venue to hold DAY on the Green, but there needs to be a lot more consideration for the people who attend. Maybe a free shuttle service for ticket holders or at least a shuttle bus from the car park. Numbered zones for the car park to help people find their car in the dark after the concert. The drop off and pick up area could have been a lot closer to the actual concert area. The only area which seemed to run quite smoothly was the bar and that would be because the cost of the alcohol would have discouraged people from purchasing. Seriously $65 for a bottle of sparkling wine!!! It's expensive enough to purchase concert tickets without then being hit again in the hip pocket when you can't BYO. I would have to very seriously consider whether I would ever go again unless the issues I have raised can be addressed.

  • Loved Missy, Hated Peter Lehman Venue

by LainyKaye on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 1 out of 5

Peter Lehman Winery have ruined their venue. Parking was $30, and then nearly a 3 kilometres walk through heat and dust to get to Venue. Will never go back to a Peter Lehman event again. Very poor form

  • Day on the Green, Barossa Valley

by BB on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 5 out of 5

A great concert, Missy was unbelievable & the support accts were great too. A good venue but the Car Parking was too far away & if you did the right thing & got there early you were directed to park the furthest away with late comers getting to park closer, go figure. A long walk across uneven ground & uphill carry gear as trolleys were banned. On the way back when it was dark large flood lights were pointing directly into your eyes so you couldn't see a thing including the people in front on you, pot holes etc, not great OH&S, this aspect needs reviewing.

  • Fantastic Concert

by Chez on 9/12/24Peter Lehmann - TanundaRating: 5 out of 5

Loved every moment. All 3 Entertainers were great. The venue at Tanunda was fabulous. Loved Missy Higgins as well as Ruby & Kate & all the backup singers & all the musicians. Had the best time. Connecting buses ran to time. Very seamless.

  • Wet and soggy

Missy Higgins was great. The weather and venue were terrible. Show should have been cancelled and rescheduled!

  • Amazing

by Yeeby on 2/12/24Sydney Opera House - Forecourt - SydneyRating: 5 out of 5

It started a bit scary with the weather but then it all cleared and Missy was amazing, such a great concert. I originally thought it was going to be inside and was a little disappointed but that changed once Missy started

  • Despite all odds the show went on

by LB on 2/12/24Centennial Vineyards - BowralRating: 5 out of 5

Despite the skies bucketing down thousands of enthusiastic fans made the pilgrimage to Bowral to see the Missy Higgins concert. Missy and her band were amazing with support act Katie. We were lucky to have booked seats however the grounds turned quickly to mush and mud. Well organised - food and bathroom facilities were used extensively and seemed well ordered and organised. The final toughest act was probably 90% of patrons had to catch buses back to their destination which involved so many buses and took up to 2 hours to clear the backlog. A logistic nightmare however we all survived the experience.
