    An illusional let down

by SanB on 1/9/24Crown Theatre Perth - Burswood

We were very excited to see the ‘Circus of Illusions’ as we thought that it would be as advertised. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. What we had expected. There were minimal magic tricks & what we saw was very basic. There was a lady who did basic hula hoop tricks. I must admit the man who did the rola bola was amazing. Unfortunately his act was only short. The dancers were out of sync & nothing to write home about & same could be said for the MC. Quite a few people didn’t return after the interval. To sum it up, it was more of a kids show & there should have been a matinee show only.

    Very disappointing

Low talent show - was geared towards kids and not adults. This was not what was advertised Very disappointed, was expecting a lot more from a show being held at the crown

    Absolutely Terrible

by Unimpressed99 on 1/9/24Crown Theatre Perth - Burswood

This was the worst. How many times can one very average illusionist expect to get applause for something that’s ok. The show in general lacked any pizazz. Over priced for mediocre entertainment. I would never recommend this show to anyone. And I’m still not sure what role semi clad girls had to do with any of it. Maybe to stop the adults walking out.

    Not what I expected

by Jen on 1/9/24Crown Theatre Perth - Burswood

I was really disappointed by this show, it was very stop start with limited actual illusions. Not a crown worthy Production at all.

    More for little kids maybe

We had an okay night only 4 illusions with more dancing then tricks. Older kids a bit bored. Best part was the guy on the board balancing

    Circus of illusion burswood

by Kyong on 1/9/24Crown Theatre Perth - Burswood

Unfortunately it was not as amazing as was expected. Some of the magic was great, however there was too many filler events like the dancing girls which extended the show. Instead of 2x 45 minutes sessions with a 20 min interval, the show could have done without too many extraneous parts that were unnecessary and slowed the show down.

    Seriously underwhelming

by Unimpressed on 1/9/24Crown Theatre Perth - Burswood

Each individual is very talented and no disrespect to them but as an overall act, at Crown Theatre, for the price, this was an amateur show. Michael Boyd is the most cringe over-actor I’ve ever seen and the continual requests for applause from the audience, sometimes just for waving his hands, were ridiculous. And the mentions of his merch were actually insulting. I felt like we had been scammed into attending a Fringe show that had jagged a good venue. Stay home and watch Magic for Humans on Netflix

    Very disappointing

    by Volha on 31/8/24

I don't think I have ever been that disappointed with a performance. Showgirls dancing resembled a mix between a shool graduation production and night club cheer girls. The acts themselves were quite outdated. It gave an overall impression of a very slack attitude.
