Cold Chisel will celebrate 50 years together with a truly unique tour … “The Big Five-0”
“The Big Five-0” will be a night like no other. This time, the band isn’t touring to promote a new album; they are touring for the best possible reason … “because we all love playing gigs together”. Their anniversary provides scope for a show that features all the classic songs with which Cold Chisel carved their unique place in Oz Rock history - Khe Sanh, Bow River, Flame Trees, You Got Nothin’ I Want, When The War Is Over, My Baby, Cheap Wine, All For You, Choir Girl, Last Wave Of Summer, Saturday Night, Breakfast At Sweethearts, Forever Now and so many more.
The Cold Chisel story has stretched from Armidale and Adelaide in 1974 to three new gold and platinum albums over the last dozen years, winning the band multiple generations of fans. Their most recent release - 2019’s Blood Moon - topped the charts and its lead single, Getting The Band Back Together, won the APRA Award for Australia’s Most Performed Rock Work.
As the accolades have piled up - ARIA Hall Of Fame, APRA’s Ted Albert Award, an Adelaide Street named in their honour, even their own postage stamp - Cold Chisel has come to understand the special place their music now occupies in Australasian hearts. “The Big Five-0” will be a rare chance for fans of all ages to see the band in action and sing their songs to them one more time. Don Walker summed it up succinctly, “This 50th anniversary tour will be a huge celebration - for all of us.”

Great line up and to top it off coldchisel has still got it! Awesome 🙌 The food wasn’t great though
Great acts, and Cold Chisel were fantastic! However the prices of food & drinks were ridiculous!! Clearly blatant price gouging!!! We won’t be attending another concert anytime soon.
The scanners can only pick up Wallet tickets but can’t read hardcopy barcode - there should be an option to use hardcopy as it is still a unique barcode
The Cold Chisel big 50 was a great lineup of music and most enjoyable. Bar had run out of four pines beer and ice by 5pm. Muddy, slippery walk to toilets. Needs to be better organised for that part!
Great Canberra show, the band sounded fab, they still have it! All the faves from Khe Sahn, Flame Trees, to Astrid and Bow River. The Cruel Sea were also great. Tickets easy to download and access too. 😊
Absolutely the best concert I've been to (Including some international acts) in a long long time. Stage 88 in Canberra is a great venue, weather permitting, and even the acts themselves seemed to enjoy the open air vibe. Karen Lee Andrews was a pleasant surprise - a powerful voice & great tunes. The Cruel Sea were also in great form - Tex Perkins his usual gravelly self & the slide work fantastic. And so to Cold Chisel.......Wow, if you closed your eyes, it could have been 1986, they sounded that good!! Yes, Jimmy's missing a few of those really high notes of old, but the backup singers & Mossy covered that superbly. Mossy was in fine form - truly a world class guitarist and vocalist by anyone's measure, and Charlie Drayton is an exceptional replacement for the late Steve Prestwich. Don with his head down focusing and Phil, like a statue, were absolutely rock solid all night. Hopefully not the last time they tour........ Kudos also to the sound guys. For an outdoor concert, the sound quality was truly amazing. Great work!! What didn't I like.......whilst food & drink prices are always a bit scary at shows like this (I was pleasantly surprised by the food variety & quality), the drink pricing was a bit over the top. 15 bucks for a 300ml baby can premix. There's some exploitative price gouging if ever I saw it !! Overall, 9.5/10 - fabulous !!
Great night, good venue. Would like to see guidelines set in place where chairs could be placed with a let more structure rather than random. Bit like a 'dog's breakfast' as more and more people arrived. Would suggest chalk lines or markers to indicate where chairs could be placed. Camera operator could be encouraged to show other members of the band instead of just Ian Moss (probably 55% on screen) Jimmy Barnes 40% others 5%
Fabulous concert. The years have certainly not diminished the band's performance. Ian Moss has to be one of the world's best guitarists. His performance alone was worth the admission price.
Had a fantastic time at Cold Chisel. Sidney Myer Music Bowl was a fabulous venue weather was great plenty of toilets / were t queuing forever easy to get a drink and good variety of beverages.
Definitely oversold tickets for this event. The Sidney Myer music bown is on an incline at the bottom of the hill, everyone standing and you could not see the stage. People were sitting on the other side of the hill from giving up trying to see anything. Bringing no chairs was a mistake cos everyone was spread out on huge picnic blankets, taking up more space. If seats were allowed (some ppl bought them in even though tickets said strictly weren't allowed) everyone would of been able to see on the correct side of the hill, taking up less floor space. Such a strange venue for a rock concert. Need an elevated stage for anyone to see
A brilliant night. I love this venue and seeing the Chisel's live has been a dream for decades. They didn't miss a beat and I heard every song that I wanted to hear. Loved it.
It was really great to see Cold Chisel live together again! However I do feel that opening the gates earlier would have avoided the huge queue to get into the venue at the start.
Cold chisel were awsome.stage was to low and I and others couldn't see the stage or cold chisel. It should have been higher so everyone could see.Other than this great venue.
The cold Chisel concert on Friday 22/11/2024 was amazing and had a brilliant night. The Myer music bowl is fantastic location
It was an absolutely brilliant show I would go again and again A big line to get in the venue but it moved quite fast and leaving didn’t take long either Loved it
Easy to use the app and very easy to access an amazing event 👍
What a great concert. Even thought there was a very big crowd, the line moved quickly and we found a great place to sit/dance and watch the concert. The sore feet at the end of the night was well worth it. Thank you for a great night Cold Chisel. See you next time.
Best concert i have been to in years,it makes you feel good to be alive.Cold Chisel you were amazing.Thankyou for a great nite.
50 years on and they are still legends belting out an absolute mindblowing show Best Australian band ever
Absolute beautiful nostalgic gig! Cold Chisel were amazing and a gig not to be missed! The Cruel Sea was legendary as per normal. And Karen was a beautiful singer and such a good support. Everyone was very patient with each other ie moving through crowds to get to the bar ect. Food, drinks and merch ques were small and staff were friendly and competent. Security was adequate and helpful. All in all one of the best gigs I’ve been to ever!
