Overpriced Grandstands with no shelter from the heat or rain
by Nigel B on 25/3/25Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit - Albert ParkRating: 3 out of 5Getting tickets for the Australian Grand Prix 2025 was very difficult and stressful even in the ballot presale. All tickets were shown as 'in demand' so dynamic pricing meant you had no choice but to pay well over the advertised price. Transport to gate 1 from Southern cross by tram worked well with few queues. Leaving via gate 9, there were no signs directing you to the trams and all were full on arrival so getting home was difficult. We ended up walking. Some things had improved like more water refill stations but there were limited options for coffee with long queues. There was no shelter at the circuit or in the grandstands from the heat on Saturday and the rain on Sunday. The few covered areas had 'sail' covers so leaked! All the volunteers and staff were friendly and pleasant. I am an F1 fan and have attended the Australian GP many times but I may not bother on 2026. Sadly, the focus seems to be a money making machine with the focus on smashing record gate numbers rather than providing a good experience for those fortunate enough to be able to afford tickets.
