About

Metal's own festival, GIGANTOUR finally took on Australia in 2006, sticking its giant foot up the ass of every metal fan throughout the Country...a trail of destruction left in its wake.

So step aside posers... GIGANTOUR is back in 2007 and it's a carefully-parted-fringe free zone!
After the phenomenal success in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane last year, GIGANTOUR will also be taking in Adelaide and Perth for the very first time.

In 2006, GIGANTOUR creator Dave Mustaine promised "It is going to be something to look forward to each year, to see what kind of tremendous talent we can assemble, for GIGANTOUR festivals in the years to come." One year on and the talent has been assembled and is set to blow 2006 away...

Megadeth return to headline GIGANTOUR as part of their worldwide Tour Of Duty supporting new album, ‘United Abominations', which Heavymetal.com proclaims ‘is the best Megadeth album in at least a decade'. Megadeth are back to their finest form and have spawned a classic thrash album harking back to the halcyon days of Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction. The nasty snarl is back, Dave is back, and like a weary eyed farmer he is proudly looking over the metal field he has sown...fertilizing the seeds of the future for more pale imitators to follow.

Having elevated themselves beyond Cult worship status, Static X has developed a rabid Australian fan base, built mainly on a massive arena tour with Korn and a sold out co-headline tour with Ill Nino.  If you have never witnessed the evidently psychotic and vocal themes, harsh and neurotic vocals of Wayne Static, then prepare yourself to enter the world of Static X...and join a chorus of thousands who have already been marked with an X.

Since the arrival of their self titled debut in 2003, Devildriver, have made a massive impact on the metal scene with their monstrous grooves, brutal, haunting vocals and crushing live performances.  Australian fans caught a glimpse of the Devildriver onslaught on their co-headline tour with Fear Factory, but with a brilliant new album in tow and massive stages to destroy...Devildriver will be taking no prisoners!

They gave us Quentin Tarantino, Al Pacino, Frank Sinatra & Liposuction and now they give us Lacuna Coil...is their anything the Italians can't do? Featuring the lush, powerful vocals of the stunning Cristina Scabbia, Lacuna Coil will be making their first trip to Australia as part of GIGANTOUR. Loud, elegant, mystical and ambient...prepare yourself for a set of tuneful, atmospheric doom-pop gems from Century Media darlings, Lacuna Coil.

Also performing at GIGANTOUR is Bring Me The Horizon.

Forming in 2005, their astonishingly razor sharp debut ‘This is What the Edge of Your Seat Was Made For' guaranteed Bring Me The Horizon a rabid, loyal fanbase...no boundaries...no rules...they just wrote what they wanted to play. This English quintet have created something absolutely magnificent. Don't let this EP pass you by. Seriously.' - Blistering.com

2006 became the year of the ‘Horizon'. First they became one of the top 100 played acts on MySpace (Coldplay were the only other UK act in the top 100!!!). They won BEST BRITISH NEWCOMERS at the Kerrang! awards (beating off the likes of Enter Shikari and The Automatic...), toured with Lostprophets, Killswitch Engage, Aiden and Bleeding Through and performed a brutal and much talked about set at Download (biggest pit of the weekend)!

In 2007 Bring Me The Horizon released their debut album, ‘Count Your Blessings', and it's metal as fuck! It caught everyone off guard with its sheer brutality and aggression and confirmed what their fans already knew, ‘Super heavy, super talented, super charismatic, Bring Me The Horizon are destined for noisy greatness' - Metal Hammer.

Bring Me The Horizon are set to explode into Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as part of Gigantour and as lead singer Oliver Sykes would say "come on you fucking hippies, dance like it's gonna save the whale!"
