STAGE NOISE - ★★★★½

“HOSH – Guys & Dolls is one of the most spectacular nights anywhere in the world.”

One of the finest, most awarded Broadway musicals ever written comes to life on our grand harbour-side stage! Escape to flashy Manhattan in the 1950s: a larger-than-life world of showgirls and gangsters, set against the backdrop of Sydney’s glittering harbour.

International recording artist Cody Simpson returns to the musical theatre stage as high-roller Sky Masterson, opposite award-winning leading lady Annie Aitken as Sarah Brown, beloved song-and-dance man Bobby Fox as the resourceful Nathan Detroit, star of stage and screen Angelina Thomson as Miss Adelaide and star of Hamilton Jason Arrow as Nicely-Nicely Johnson.

Guys & Dolls on Sydney Harbour is award-winning musical theatre at its show-stopping best. The score is packed with huge hits, including ‘Luck Be a Lady’, ‘Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat’, and ‘I’ve Never Been in Love Before’.

Expect big laughs and even bigger song and dance numbers in this energetic new staging, directed by Shaun Rennie, with a magnificent stage design by Tony Award-winner Brian Thomson.

There’s nowhere better to experience a tale of romance and comedic mayhem than Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour. Kick up your heels, raise a glass of something bubbly as the sun sets and grab a bite at one of the pop-up restaurants. Then take your seat for an unforgettable, feel-good night of song and dance, with fireworks at every performance.

The stakes are high, don’t miss out!

  • A GREAT NIGHT WITH GUYS & DOLLS

by MEMORABLE on 28/3/25Mrs Macquaries Point - SydneyRating: 5 out of 5

The weather was splendid for a night out at Hand Opera - we could not have picked a better night., The backdrop of the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Luna Park was breath taking on this night. The Show as just magical, the cast and crew fit the bill. The band was fabulous, Sound perfect. The Set was amazing. From the time of arrival at the Venue, the service was the best we received - it was my second visit to Handa Opera. The food generally was okay but service was prompt and efficiently executed. The best part of the night was the cheerful volunteer photographers and the Red Carpet. All the staff on duty were courteous and offered assistance at all times. Long queues disappeared very quickly as the facilities were well provided and managed with speed and efficiency. I can't wait to go to the next show held at Hand Opera.

  • Great Show - Fabulous View- Shocking food

We were a party of 4. Arrived early to enjoy a lite meal and drinks with the beautiful views afforded by this venue. We attempted to enjoy a lite ( all be it very expensive) meal at the Northern Cantina. We ordered a variety of food including salad, which was gross looking and soggy, a lasagne and osso buco which were inedible but still resulted in gastro even after only a few bites. The hot chips and olives were an ok option. Really not acceptable offer. The show, however, was fabulous and congratulations to all the performers who were spectacular and so professional in some rainy conditions. A fun and well arranged event. An enjoyable evening but next time will eat before coming to the venue. Drinks only!!
