  • Wasn't great.

Sadly, not the most interactive kids production I've been to. The storyline was difficult for young kids to follow. Also, I thought Sanrio's Hello Kitty was Japanese and not Chinese? Would have appreciated a shorter intermission & more interaction with the HK characters for kids & be inclusive have all the HK characters.

  • Was not what I expected

Took a 6 year old & 11 year old - this was not at all what we expected. I wish I’d read up on the storyline first but made the mistake of thinking it’d be similar to the Hello Kitty cartoon. The story is based on Chinese literature - Journey to the West. Some may recognize this storyline as it was the basis of Monkey Magic which gained popularity in Australia in the 90s. Expect to see Monkey, Pigsy and Tripitaka. This production was Monkey Magic featuring Hello Kitty. It should not be marketed as Hello Kitty & friends. I’m glad I bought the tickets on sale, but wish I hadn’t bought them at all and saved my money.

  • More like a school show

Thought this would be based on a new/original and creative storyline...that might be based in Japan, where the characters come from. But weirdly, it is based on the Chinese monkey King story. It's quite boring and the singing and dancing are more like the standard of a school show. Very low cost production and I would not recommend it.
