About

Hooked On Swing honours the Jazz and Swing eras of the 30’s and 40’s with the enchanting The Three Little Sisters, dazzling Kate Blakk, charismatic crooner Chris Lloyds and the blistering Boogie Woogie Big Band, at Crown Theatre Perth on Friday 8 November, from 7.30pm.

The Boogie Woogie Big Band plays to authentic arrangements while The Three Little Sisters trio - Shelley Pantic, Tania Savelli and Melanie Smith, share the spotlight with captivating chanteuse Kate Blakk and charming Chris Lloyds, to perform iconic melodies from the catalogues of Billie Holiday, Benny Goodman, The Andrews Sisters, Glenn Miller, Nat “King” Cole, Cab Calloway, Ray Charles, Peggy Lee, Frank Sinatra and others.

Hooked on Swing recreates the significant years where music boosted morale, defined hope, spirit and promise, and a time when everyone was listening and dancing to the same tunes

  • Disappointing

    by Family E on 31/3/25State Theatre - SydneyRating: 3 out of 5

Not worth it. The band was fabulous the sisters amazing. The rest of the show was slow and old songs most never heard of. A swing show should be swinging with the hit songs of the era not slow and boring.

  • Great afternoon’s entertainment

I took my 87 year old Mum to this show and she thoroughly enjoyed herself I thought it was great as well. There were a couple of issues with sound but it didn’t detract from the talent on the stage.

  • I Was Hooked

    by Sue C on 30/3/25State Theatre - SydneyRating: 5 out of 5

I was thoroughly enthralled by the music and glamour of the event.Having been a fan of the swing era music for many years I was totally focused by what was happening on stage. I also enjoyed the three little sisters group rendition of the andrew sisters songs. Kate Black had a sensational voice, also the costumes the ladies wore were glamorous.I think I was born just 20 years too early.

  • Great show!

    by Belle52 on 30/3/25State Theatre - SydneyRating: 5 out of 5

The talent of all those unhooked on Swing was terrific. It was a slick performance and certainly had the audience toe tapping and moving along with music of the 30s, 40s and 50s. Kate Blak was amazing! We enjoyed every minute!

  • GOOD FROM ROW 3

by DEREK on 30/3/25State Theatre - SydneyRating: 4 out of 5

I had a great seat, which helped. I would actually give it 3.5 stars, but it was entertaining. A few short microphone problems. The Little Sisters were excellent, but did not do Sugartime. Kate Blakk was very good, but did not do any Helen Forrest songs. Chris Lloyd was good, but not exceptional. The band could not be faulted. Would go again if I had a good seat. Because it was a mostly older crowd, no-one talked during the performance, a huge plus.

  • Great music

by Rev head nana on 9/11/24Crown Theatre Perth - BurswoodRating: 4 out of 5

The band and music was wonderful and brought back lots of lovely memories. The three little sisters sung very well and so did Kate but at times when Kate sung it became too loud. Other than that it was an enjoyable evening.
