About

A solo acoustic concert by one of the world's most remarkable 6- and 12-string guitarists.
In four decades of touring and recording, Leo Kottke has created an entirely new language for the acoustic guitar.

His ability to embrace folk idioms and pop melodies as readily as he assimilates jazz and classical influences makes him unique among guitar virtuosi.  For all its technical brilliance, wicked syncopation, harmonic sophistication, Kottke's music is eminently accessible.

Profoundly original, a little cantankerous perhaps, a deep talking Midwestern raconteur whose quick wit is matched by his astounding virtuosity on the six and 12 string guitars. An extraordinary musician, Kottke is also known for his darkly humorous anecdotes and verbal digressions between songs.

For the past three decades, Kottke has been indefatigable in his pursuit of a unique musical vision that has placed him among the foremost acoustic guitar stylists of our time. Or any other, for that matter.

With his 1968 debut album, "Twelve-String Blues," and his groundbreaking 1969 album, "Six- and Twelve-String Guitar," Kottke established himself as one of the foremost acoustic guitar soloists in the US. He has now recorded over 25 albums and has been inducted into Guitar Player Magazine's Hall of Fame.

"Pure, perfect...glorious" Billboard

"Technically astounding" Variety

"His fingers unleash a flurry of notes that evoke a quirky world of wonder: part bluegrass breakdown, part folk ballad, part Delta blues, part nursery rhyme. All this and surreally funny rambling monologues, too." salon.com
