Bang Bang Betty & the H-Bombs present 'Wild & Swingin’

Celebrating some of the greatest female singers of the 50s, but with a twist…

“Whole Lotta Shakin Going On”, “Got My Mojo Workin”, “Hound Dog”… you recognise the songs, but did you know they were first recorded by female artists?

Tonight we’ll take you on a journey to the 1950s, when Rock'n'Roll exploded onto the scene. Elvis brought this music to the masses but there were many incredible singers who are virtually unknown today. Putting the spotlight on some of these stars, Wild & Swingin’ brings this exciting music to life with a HOT live band and swingin’ dancers!

“Bang Bang Betty” is Perth's very own Miss Dynamite and the lead vocalist takes inspiration from the greatest rockin’ vocalists of the 50s era, from familiar names like Brenda Lee and Peggy Lee to R&B stars Ruth Brown, Lavern Baker and Big Maybelle.

The band features musicians who have played in many top combos, from swing and jump blues to rockabilly. The show focuses on fun and upbeat numbers from the golden era of rock ‘n’ roll, mixing a carefully selected array of crowd-pleasers with some fantastic songs by less familiar artists who deserve to be famous. If you love 50s rockin' music, you're in for a treat at this exciting show!
