About

Get ready for an exhilarating adventure to a far, far away kingdom…

Shrek The Musical captures the essence of the beloved Dreamworks animated film, bringing the characters you know and love to the stage with a fresh and exhilarating twist. Join us on an epic adventure to a faraway kingdom turned upside down. An unsightly ogre (not a handsome prince) arrives to rescue a feisty princess. Add in a talkative donkey, a “short” tempered villain, an attitude-laden cookie, and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got a situation that only a true hero can fix. Fortunately, our knight in shining armor Shrek is here to save the day!

Based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, Shrek, this hilarious story of everyone's favourite ogre will be staged across Western Australia during the September & October school holidays. This extravagant multi-million-dollar musical combines romance, twisted fairy tales, and irreverent fun, bringing to life all the beloved characters from the film. It proves that there's more to the story than meets the ears.

Since its debut in 2008, SHREK THE MUSICAL has captivated audiences worldwide, touring the US, UK, Asia, Canada, South America, Middle East, New Zealand. Now, it’s Western Australia’s turn to experience the magic!

  • Talented cast but not my favourite show

by Sarah on 7/10/24Crown Theatre Perth - BurswoodRating: 3 out of 5

I understand that kids wanted to see the show but the biggest percentage of them were not interested. They were so noisy, screaming, talking about other stuff and not understanding the show that my group missed a lot of the jokes because we couldn't hear. I've got kids and they would never behave like that in a show. The cast were great. The singing was amazing but I missed some of it due to the inability to hear. It was just unfortunate.

  • Ticketmaster and Shrek

by Lexie on 7/10/24Crown Theatre Perth - BurswoodRating: 5 out of 5

We needed an extra ticket and Dominic at Ticketmaster was very helpful, everything went well.

  • Left flat

by Family Shrek on 6/10/24Crown Theatre Perth - BurswoodRating: 3 out of 5

We paid $316 for four tickets where we sat so far away I could hardly see. The sound quality was poor. Some of the props etc were of poor quality and not what you would expect for the money we paid. The same person played three different characters so you could barely tell difference between characters. Disappointing as we were all so excited to go.

  • Terrible

by Tazz on 6/10/24Crown Theatre Perth - BurswoodRating: 1 out of 5

The show was absolutely terrible, you couldn’t hear them talking or singing the music was over powered. The acting was definitely poorly done. It wasn’t as I thought it would be. The costumes were poor aswell. The amount of money that was spent for good seats Im very disappointed.

  • Get your Ogre on

by TiggyB on 5/10/24Crown Theatre Perth - BurswoodRating: 4 out of 5

Shrek at crown Perth was a great experience, hilariously funny, only let down was the backing track overpowered the fabulous voices of the cast, so some of the very funny lyrics were lost. The song lyrics are very much part of the story telling in this show.
