Westpac OpenAir Brisbane is located at Howard Smith Wharves, 5 Boundary St, Brisbane, on the East Lawn. The East Lawn is positioned behind the riverfront stairs, between Howard’s Hall and Rivershed. The precinct is accessible via: stairs and lifts on Bowen Terrace; drop-off zones at 5 Boundary Street; and the Riverwalk entering from Brisbane City and New Farm. Lift access is located at two points along Bowen Terrace, New Farm: on the western side, opposite Malt Street; and on the eastern side, opposite Bowen Street. Parking

On-site parking is available with an underground car park for 359 vehicles. The car park is operated by Secure Parking. Enter from Boundary St. Metered street parking available in the vicinity.

Public Transportation

We encourage you to use public transport. Plan your trip with Translink: translink.com.au/plan-your-journey. CityCat: The closest ferry terminal is at Riverside, an 800m walk to the precinct. Bus: Adelaide Street, Eagle Street, Ann Street and Brunswick Street are the closest bus stops CityHopper: Hop across the river for free between 6am and midnight. This service runs every 30mins to Eagle St Pier, a 1.1km walk to the precinct. Train: Central Station, and Fortitude Valley Stations are the most convenient to access the precinct. From Central; either a 15min/1.1km walk, or catch the 199 bus two stops from Adelaide Street Stop 31 to Adelaide Street Stop 36, then a 2min/150m walk to the precinct. From Fortitude Valley; either a 14min/1km walk, or catch a bus two stops from Wickham Street Stop 228 to Queen Street Stop 67, then a 2min/140m walk to the precinct. Taxi: Designated pick-up and drop-off zone at 5 Boundary St, Brisbane.

Box Office Hours

The box office is located near East Lawn, and is open from 5pm daily during the season for collection of pre-paid tickets and sales. A limited number of tickets will be released for sale each night for that night’s screening. Please check the event’s Facebook page and website for more information: westpacopenair.com.au.

Accessible Seating

The precinct is fully accessible. Wheelchair Patrons: Once you’ve booked your tickets, please email contact@cinerent.com.au, at least 2 days prior if possible, with your booking number. Companion Card holders: To reserve your free carer ticket please email contact@cinerent.com.au, at least 2 days prior if possible. Please bring your companion card with you for ticket collection on the night, from 5pm at the box office.

General Rules

** CANCELLATION POLICY ** As an outdoor event Westpac OpenAir is subject to prevailing weather conditions. Specifically, rain will not prohibit the screening of films. Screenings will be cancelled only if weather conditions present a danger at Howard Smith Wharves at screening time. Patrons accept that in purchasing a ticket, they are paying for a screening that commences at approximately 7.30pm at Howard Smith Wharves, and that weather conditions prior to that time and in other parts of Brisbane will not result in a screening being cancelled. Patrons accept the risk that weather they consider unsatisfactory may occur on a screening night, and acknowledge that tickets will not be exchanged or refunded unless a screening is cancelled due to dangerous weather conditions at screening time and Westpac OpenAir is unable to provide an avenue for the film to be viewed. If a screening is cancelled after a film has commenced, but before the end of the film, Westpac OpenAir will endeavour to provide an avenue for patrons to complete their viewing experience through an alternate means. For example, the remainder of the film could be shared via a private link or passes to an in season screening may be provided. In the unlikely event that a screening is cancelled, information will be posted on the event website https://www.westpacopenair.com.au/,social media and the information hotline 1300 366 649 and ticket holders will be contacted directly to notify them of proceedings. Patrons unwilling to accept this policy and the risk of inclement weather should plan to purchase tickets at the door.

Children Rules

Children under 2 years are admitted free provided they do not occupy a seat. Where film ratings preclude patrons under 18 years or where other age restrictions apply, NO children will be admitted, including babes in arms.

Miscellaneous

There’s a bar inside the venue, and food trucks, restaurants and bars inside the wider precinct. Howard Smith Wharves is a fully licensed and controlled alcohol environment. In compliance with Responsible Service of Alcohol laws, patrons will not be permitted to bring alcohol into the precinct. Dogs and other domestic animals are not permitted within the event site (guide dogs and assistance dogs excepted).
