The information below relates to the Melbourne Cup Carnival only.


Limited public car parking is available in the Centre Car Park, parking fees will apply. Patrons should enter off Smithfield Road at the Stables Drive entrance.

Front of Members Carpark (MEMBERS ONLY)
Disabled public parking is available at the Centre Car Park and the front row of VIP area off Leonard Crescent Car Park (limited spaces).

It is suggested that Public Transport be utilized for all other events at Flemington Racecourse.

Public Transportation:

Train: Flemington Station is located at the racecourse. Trains run from Flinders Street (Platforms 8 & 9), stopping at Southern Cross (Platform 14) and North Melbourne (Platform 6) then express to Flemington Racecourse.

Tram: No 57 tram from the corner of Elizabeth and Flinders Streets stops at Flemington Drive off Epsom Road.

Taxis and Hire Car access: Taxis WILL NOT be permitted down the Member’s Drive nor Flemington Drive.

Temporary Box Offices may apply and will be subject to agreements in place for inidvidual events.

Hours of Operation for each event are determined by the client and can be found in the event information on Ticketmaster's website www.ticketmaster.com.au

General Rules:

Melbourne Cup Carnival
All tickets MUST be pre-purchased before arriving at Flemington racecourse. For the Melbourne Cup Carnival it is advisable to purchase reserved seats well in advance as they may sell out. If any seats are available on the day there is a Ticketmaster Box Office located at the bottom of the Hill Stand, inside the gate near the railway turnstiles for inquiries and upgrades.

Big Day Out - 16+ only (15yrs and under not admitted)

Festival events are temporary and facilites may change for each event.

Melbourne Cup Carnival
Public Toilets: Under the Lawn Stand (ramp access)
East and west ends of the betting ring and west end of Members Stand (first floor).

EFTPOS: Located at the western and eastern ends of the betting ring, at the Flemington Racecourse Tabaret and Hill Stand Level 1 West. Numerous machines are located around the racecourse.

Telephones: Public telephones are located in numerous places around the racecourse. The use of mobile phones is NOT permitted in the Mounting Yard, Jockey's Room nor Scales area.
