We're sorry, but we couldn’t find any events

It is with regret that due to ongoing border restrictions, Montaigne and Adrian Eagle will no longer be performing at the upcoming Ministry of Sound Classical at Kings Park & Botanic Garden on December 11. We have been working hard in the background to secure an incredibly exciting new line-up and are thrilled to announce the addition of Katy Steele (Little Birdy), Kavyen Temperley (Eskimo Joe) and Reigan to perform alongside the Ministry of Sound Orchestra and Groove Terminator. Along with support from the brilliant Greg Packer, Luke Million, Casual Connection and Flex, Ministry of Sound Classical is set to be the party of the year and the perfect way to reminisce on the great days of clubbing in a beautiful parkland setting.

In the midst of celebrating 30 years of dance floor history, the world's most renowned club brand, Ministry of Sound, returns with the next evolution of their acclaimed live orchestral event, completely reimagined as Ministry of Sound Classical. Taking place in Perth’s beautiful Kings Park and Botanic Garden on Saturday, 11th December, Ministry of Sound Classical will feature the Ministry of Sound Orchestra accompanied by legendary Australian DJ Groove Terminator, plus newly announced vocalists Katy Steele (Little Birdy), Kavyen Temperley (Eskimo Joe) and Reigan.

Ministry of Sound Classical will feature an all-new set list with the most loved tracks from the biggest decades of dance music, right through to today.  Well-loved classics from Robert Miles, Underworld, Cafe del Mar, Moby, Laurent Garnier and Shapeshifter will take audiences to new heights, alongside a slew of freshly reinvented versions of Röyksopp, Robin S, Basement Jaxx and The Temper Trap to name but a few - even Darude gets a spectacular classical reinvention! Groove Terminator explains the feeling of the new Classical show: “We've spent the last year rejigging the set and I have to say that this new setlist is sounding pretty epic. Expect to be on your feet dancing from the first song until the final encore!”

Katy Steele’s music is rich in colour and texture just like her family history. Brought up around her father, a bluesman from New Zealand and her brother, Luke Steele, one half of electro-pop duo Empire of the Sun, the family has seen the many facets of the music business and they all continue to thrive in their own worlds. At the age of 19 Katy became the lead singer of one of Australia’s biggest bands, Little Birdy. This saw her travel all over the world for showcases and tours, building on her fanbase for over 15 years. Now based back in Perth after the birth of her first child, Katy is in the midst of finishing her new record. This next chapter for Katy dances with the past with suggestive throwbacks whilst feeling thrilling, moving and modern.

In the storied career of beloved Fremantle rockers Eskimo Joe, frontman, bassist and award-winning songwriter Kavyen Temperley has played a lead role. Successfully straddling mainstream commercial success while managing to keep their alternative music roots secure, over their career Eskimo Joe have racked up a list of impressive stats along with both commercial success and critical recognition. Three of the band’s six albums debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts with juggernaut Black Fingernails, Red Wine shining in Top 50 for 62 weeks and Foreign Land bringing home two APRA Awards for Most Played Rock Song on Australian radio and Best Rock Song of 2010. Eskimo Joe recently delivered a show-stopping performance at the AFL Grand Final, showcasing the enduring love for the band and Kav’s incredible vocal range.

Platinum-selling, ARIA-nominated, soul/folk singer-songwriter Reigan entered the industry as a teenager when she was signed by Jay Z and L.A. Reid to international giants Island/Def Jam Records. With a recording contract underway, living between LA and New York, Reigan began honing her songwriting skills in co-writing sessions with Snoop Dogg, Ne-Yo and Stargate. She returned back to Australian television on The X Factor in 2014 and won a contract with Sony Music after placing fourth on the show. This year, Reigan’s cover of ‘Dreams’ with Jolyon Petch reached #1 on the Australian airplay chart and has just gone platinum in Australia, with over 13 million plays on Spotify alone. Reigan has also graced American TV this year as a regular singer on FOX’s Name That Tune with Randy Jackson. Reigan is a performer of the highest calibre, renowned for her vocal virtuosity, souring range and heartbreaking emotional delivery.

Ministry of Sound Classical will be held in the stunning surrounds of Perth’s Kings Park and Botanic Gardens which has been home to many memorable sold-out Ministry of Sound events. With gates opening at 4:30 pm, guests will be able to enjoy an array of food and beverage options in a picnic setting, whilst enjoying warm-up sets from Luke Million, Greg Packer, Casual Connection and Flex.

Get set for a stunning session of spine-tingling moments as you relive the most magical moments of dance music history surrounded by music lovers, reimagined by an orchestra and incredible live vocals.
