About
RAZORLIGHT
Slipping down our way to fire up for their FIRST Australian Performances!!
Razorlight were once described as "London's most passionate and wired underground rock'n'roll band"... Underground no more, Razorlight have been credited with re-energizing the British guitar scene. As if to prove it, the band have album sales under their belts in excess of 3 million worldwide and counting.
Starting out in the bars and basements of London, during the course of their burgeoning six-year career Razorlight's fan-base has grown with them, filling arenas and flooding festivals. An opening act at Glastonbury one year, a headline act the next. At Live8 their performance was a highlight of the day, and in 2007 Razorlight headlined the Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Their 2004 debut single Stumble & Fall brought the band deserved attention, NME claiming:
"Dismantling every brilliant piece of UK Indie from the past 20 years and shoving it all back together like an evil rock n roll jigsaw".
Their first album release Up All Night hit stores in 2004 climbing to #3 on the UK charts, and also features hit single Golden Touch. Q Magazine and NME awarded Razorlight the gong for Best New Act.
It was in 2006 with the release of the band's sophomore album that their success gained real momentum, creating waves in Europe and across the Atlantic into the US of A.
The self-titled album, produced by the highly revered Chris Thomas (The Beatles, Roxy Music, The Pretenders, The Sex Pistols) earned sales of over 3 million, Number 1 on the UK album chart, and 2 massive chart topping singles In The Morning (#2) and America (#1) plus rave reviews:
"The best guitar album since Oasis's Definitely Maybe" - Q
Razorlight recently released their 3rd album - Slipway Fires (Universal).
