âLife will sometimes seem long and tough. And you will sometimes be happy and sometimes sad. And then youâll be old. And then youâll be dead. There is only one sensible thing to do with this empty existence, and that is: fill it.âÂ
 Â
Spend an evening in the company of internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter, musician, actor, writer and comedian Tim Minchin as he celebrates the publication of his first non-fiction book, You Donât Have to Have a Dream.Â
 Â
In conversation with a special guest interviewer, hear Tim share his inimitable thoughts and advice on life, art, success, kindness, love and thriving in a meaningless universe. Drawing from his legendary university commencement addresses, Timâs rallying cry for creativity, critical thinking, and compassion in our daily lives will touch the science-loving reality-romantic in all of us.Â
 Â
Tim, in addition to being known for his sold-out music and comedy tours, is the composer of music and lyrics to Matilda the Musical and Groundhog Day, winning him an Olivier Award for both.Â
 Â
Donât miss your chance to hear Tim reflect live onstage how itâs never too late to put something beautiful out into the world.Â

A wonderful evening with Tim. First-class questions and the interviewer helped get the max of Tim out to us. Any one of the questions could have yielded an entire program of discussion!
Iâve enjoyed Tim Minchinâs talents for many years, singing, acting, making us laugh, speaking, producing and tonight âs book interview was simply another medium to be entertained by this Australian treasure. Of all the ways he expresses himself, Iâve decided my favourite is just listening to him speak. Timâs words alway come from a deep place - heâs obviously a deep thinker - deliberate and thoughtful yet at the same time deliciously irreverent and funny. Tim renews my love of language and always leaves me resonating on different aspects of humanity and how we interact, engage and deal with the nuances of life. I enjoy his perspectives, sometimes disagree with them but thatâs ok and Timâs also ok with that. He teaches us to be passionate, focus on whatâs in front of us and give it a red hot go, while at the same time being kind to ourselves and not to take life l, or ourselves, too seriously. The format of the evening was great, the interviewer did a great job, as did the Auslan interpreters (watching them sign some of Timâs colourful anecdotes was a hoot!). The Q&A session in the second half was a lot of fun, clearly an intelligent audience with a wonderful variety of clever questions that Tim managed beautifully. Overall, a very enjoyable evening and of course, I snaffled a copy of his personally autographed book and am enjoying reading it already. đ©·
