LEFTFIELD ANNOUNCE HEADLINE SHOWS IN MELBOURNE!

In news that's certain to have discerning dance music fans and old-skool party people alike jumping for joy, the UK's legendary Leftfield have announced that they'll be laying down LIVE show in Melbourne on March 18.

News of these two ‘rare as hens teeth' headline shows follows hot on heels of Leftfield's confirmation that they'll be rocking crowds around the nation on the massive forthcoming Future Music Festival 2011 tour.

For the last 20 years, Leftfield have been tirelessly helping to shape electronic music as we know it today. Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, they're discography features anthems like Phat Planet, Open Up, Release The Pressure and Afrika Shox and two all-time classic albums - 1995's ‘Leftism' which placed #34 in Q Magazine's Top 100 British Albums Ever, and 1999's ‘Rhythm and Stealth' which enjoyed number one status in charts all over the world.

After reforming in 2010, Leftfield are back with a vengeance and their hallmark blend of House, Dub, Progressive and blissful Electronica is laying claim to the dancefloors and iPods of an entirely new generation of international clubbers and electronic music lovers.  Neil Barnes has confirmed who will be joining him in front of the legendary Sound System in 2011. Original vocalists Djum Djum, Earl 16, and Cheshire Cat, all of whom played key roles in one or both of Leftfield's classic albums ‘Leftism' and ‘Rhythm & Stealth', will be joining Neil for the shows. Completing the live line up will be Adam Wren (keyboards), Jess Mills (Vocals), Kwes Sey (Keyboards) and Sebastian Beresford on drums. Paul Daley, Neil's former partner in Leftfield, will not be taking part in the shows. Neil Barnes says "The opportunity to perform the songs to a whole new audience with the original vocalists is an opportunity that I simply couldn't turn down. The goodwill surrounding the live show has overwhelmed me, the expectation is tremendous. I simply can't wait to blow everybody away -literally."

Joining Leftfield on support duties are two of Australia's finest exports: Woolongong's all-conquering LIVE act Infusion, and Victoria's very own Progressive House kingpin, Kasey Taylor.

With no less than two ARIA Awards, three top-selling albums (‘All Night Sunlight', ‘Six Feet Above Yesterday' and ‘Phrases and Numbers') and countless dancefloor detonating tracks to their name (including Do To You in 82', Starwater (It's Alright), Girls Can Be Cruel, Dogtown and Spike) there are few bigger electronic acts in Australian dance music history than Infusion. Comprising the edgy talents of Jamie Stevens, Manuel Sharrad and Frank Xavier, this eclectic electric trio have played every major festival stage on the planet (including Glastonbury, Coachella and Roskilde) and remixed the likes of The Cure, Freeland and Delerium.

Meanwhile, as head honcho of leading international Progressive House label, Vapour Recordings, and a headlining star in his own right, Melbourne DJ/Producer Kasey Taylor has made a name for himself overseas that most local jocks could only dream of. The mastermind behind a plethora of tunes regularly supported by the likes of John Digweed, Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo (to name but a few!), this gifted dance music wunderkind and legendary set programmer has played the main room of every major club on the planet and a who's who of festival stages (including Voov, Labyrinth and Creamfields).

Leftfield 100% LIVE with support from Infusion and Kasey Taylor ... now that's a show not to be missed, folks, and certainly "not forgotten"!
