Pearl Jam Dark Matter World Tour 2024

Joining special guests Pixies, Liam Finn will open proceedings in Auckland on November 8 and 10. Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers kick off the Australian shows at the Gold Coast on November 13, Melbourne on November 18 and Sydney on November 23, and Cosmic Psychos will feature at the Melbourne show on November 16 followed by Sydney on November 21.

Pearl Jam is an alternative rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band's lineup consists of bassist Jeff Ament, rhythm guitarist Stone Gossard, lead guitarist Mike McCready, lead singer/guitarist Eddie Vedder and drummer Matt Cameron. Thirty plus years of live performances, twelve studio albums and hundreds of official live concert bootleg releases later, Pearl Jam continues to be critically acclaimed and commercially successful. The band has sold over 85 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Pearl Jam's new album, Dark Matter, is out April 19, 2024.

Since the earliest days, Pearl Jam has used its platform to elevate people and causes that often go unnoticed or underserved. Much of the band’s philanthropic work is accomplished through its Vitalogy Foundation which to date has raised more than $50 million for organizations supporting issues such as abortion access, climate change and homelessness, and drawing attention to the fight against diseases such as Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis and epidermolysis bullosa (EB). In addition to the money Vitalogy donates, the band also donates signed instruments, posters and merchandise to organizations to use for their own fundraising purposes. Compounding the impact of Vitalogy Foundation, the band has supported Jeff Ament’s Montana Pool Service building skate parks in Montana and South Dakota. Pearl Jam also lends its voice to notable causes like the West Memphis 3, voting rights and fair ticketing practices. Over the past three decades, the band has a long history of standing up for what it believes in and putting its resources behind those beliefs.

Through its innovative Ten Club and fan engagement, community building, coveted poster designs, and longstanding activism and philanthropy, Pearl Jam continues to have a lasting impact on generations of music lovers.

  • A few hick-ups but a great concert

by Michela on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 4 out of 5

We arrived via Shuttle bus at People First Stadium Gold Coast, just as a weather warning was issued, and the organisers delayed the entry into GA standing and booked seating due to lightening. This was a very safe and appropriate measure, and we (and others) were content staying under cover with food and drinks, waiting for updates. Updates were provided every half hour or so and were based on the weather conditions and safety of all people at the venue. Once the show got underway at 7.45pm (as the storm cell finally passed) the first act Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers had been cut, and The Pixies only had a half hour set. Pearl Jam came on at 9pm and played for two hours, with an extension to the 10pm curfew granted by local authorities. Both The Pixies and Pearl Jam were wonderful - very tight, professional and sounding brilliant. The downside of our night began as we attempted to leave People First Stadium. All attendees were guided towards one very narrow exit point. This was a crowd of nearly forty thousand people. Eventually some people were redirected to a second point of exiting the grounds, however there were very few staff, security, or event employees visible to direct the public. It took us an hour and a half to queue and access a Shuttle bus back to our light rail destination: three destinations were specified and dictated by the event organisers as there is no parking at the venue. Because of the delay and concert late finish the last tram from our light rail destination had already left, resulting in many hundreds (maybe more) members of the public left with finding alternate last-minute options to get back to where they were staying. This was at 1am. While the inclement weather was beyond anyone's control, and the safety of everyone was well considered and implemented with the change to the performance times, it was the leaving of the venue chaos and no regard for public transport consequence that was very disappointing. We would not consider attending an event at People First Stadium, Carrara Gold Coast because of the issues with getting to and from the Stadium. The Pixies and Pearl Jam were wonderful!

  • Pearl Jam

by Kris on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 5 out of 5

Had a great night. Pear Jam and The Pixies were awesome but felt the Stadium security were very lacking in crowd control management. With all the storms and lightning etc a lot of people were left in certain areas totally exposed and it took gates a long time to be opened to let those people under cover. Also once again I felt the stadium failed by trying to funnel nearly everyone out one gate with no directions or control. I feel it was very lucky there were no incidents that I noticed. As far as music though, brilliant, and congratulations on arriving at a decision to keep it on, run later and put on the extra buses for leaving

  • Best night 🌙 of my Life.

by Lisa on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 5 out of 5

Great atmosphere, sound was awesome, Pearl Jam is just frickin the best.

  • Poorly done

by KRock on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 3 out of 5

I totally missed the Pixies which ruined the night. The event was poorly done. Getting there was a nightmare. I left early anticipating the chaos that would ensue. Pearl Jam delivered though which was the only plus. I would never return to Gold Coast stadium for a concert.

  • Pearl jam

by Lyall and di on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 5 out of 5

  • In the dark

by Waiting on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 4 out of 5

I needed to search different platforms such as Facebook fan pages etc.to find answers. Communication about when we would see our tickets wasn't clear. I am still waiting for a hard copy ticket. There has been zero communication regarding this. Concert is now over, but havent seen the commemorative tickets I paid for?

  • 500 hundred dollars to sit up the back.

by RAW on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 1 out of 5

Why did I pay 500 dollars to sit at the back?.. That is insane

  • PJ were great, venue sucked!

by Aunty M on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 3 out of 5

The band simply so amazing!! Absolutely loved their performance. Eddies voice, the talent of all the musicians in that band is mind boggling!! The bummer was the venue Peoples choice stadium on GC. Poorly thought out and organised. We were not allowed in due to thunder storms.supposed to open gates at 5 pm, We could have been inside venue getting a drink or something to eat or being able to use toilets instead of standing in the heavy rain but they made us wait and then we got to pay exorbitant prices for half strength drinks.$15 for 1 drink plus a surcharge every time we used credit card (should be illegal) as they would not take cash! After the show, the idiots would not open all the gates, which resulted in people who had already been standing a long time in the rain in having to walk much further away to get out. We ended up walking home like many others as we couldn’t get a bus and there was no taxi Uber pick area. I will definitely go see PJ again but I would rather fly to Sydney than go to that stadium again. A few people put things into the cloakroom because that was the rules but then had their merchandise given to the wrong person. So they make you use the cloak room but then say you do it at your own risk. They really should refund those who trusted them to look after their stuff.

  • Great night!

by Nellie on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 4 out of 5

The communication from Ticketmaster was good, entry was easy and the venue itself was good. Good range of drinks and food at venue. Venue is difficult to access though and i won't go back. Shame the Pixies set was cut short, but happy for full Pearl Jam set which was awesome!

  • Great band, terrible venue

by Brent on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 3 out of 5

Pearl Jam was amazing, thankfully, but the venue was a disaster. Transport from the train station was a nightmare, and the security checkpoint, ticket gate, and wristband process were a mess. Food and drink options were extremely limited, access to GA was unsafe, and there was no organized transport out of the venue. That stadium just isn’t suitable for events like this.

  • Super unsuitable venue for big events.

by People First stadium SUCKS!! on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 3 out of 5

The Pixies and Pearl Jam were amazing. Unfortunately People First Stadium is a chaotic transport nightmare and it took us 3.5 hours to get 8km. We will never attend an event here again. You couldn't pay us to attend. Please don't hold large events here again.

  • Great band to see live

by BF on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 5 out of 5

Pearl Jam still sounds amazing. Lots of energy in the show. Unfortunately the concert was delayed due to weather and sets were cut short. The only downside besides not getting to hear the full set list was the crowd. Does no one go to a concert to listen to the band anymore? We had a general admission ticket and were in the front part of the area. We left to go further back due to all the people either talking loudly or making constant trips to the bar. Then when they would walk through they just barged through. Please be courteous to other people when you are at a concert.

  • Great concert but venue is the worst

by TrishM on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 3 out of 5

Great concert but venue is the worst! Disorganised and we couldn't find Golden Circle entry.

  • Pearl Jam where amazing

by Paulskis on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 2 out of 5

Due to unfortunate weather, the gig was delayed. Pearl Jam always deliver. However Carrerra/Peoples Stadium was poorly set up and badly organised. We have been to events all around the world and the stadium experience on the Gold Coast was very poor . Also transport to and from is a major issue.

  • Commemorative Ticket

by James on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 3 out of 5

Bought a Commemorative ticket for Pearl Jam and couldn’t find anywhere to collect it at the venue.

by Hendo on 14/11/24People First Stadium - CarraraRating: 5 out of 5

Pearl jam was rocking awesome great night even the lightning and thunderstorms couldn’t keep Pearl jam away the only disappointment was the support band the pixies they were pretty ordinary
