About
James Reyne has been performing for as long as he can remember; whether on-stage or in the studio with award-winning artists and producers, or lending his acting talents to myriad productions spanning throughout his extensive career.
Reyne has always taken his own path, whether releasing his debut album at the age of 20 (‘Album of the Week’ – Daily Telegraph), fronting bands ‘Rushcutter’ & ‘The Paradise Three’ (‘Artist you should know about’ – Rolling Stone), or taking his solo-show (‘Armed with a mesmerising voice, harmonica and guitar’ – Broadsheet), across the globe, gracing the bills of world-renowned festivals, and touring alongside illustrious artists.
James Reyne’s songs have provided the soundtrack to endless Australian summers, including “The Boys Light Up”, “Reckless”, “Beautiful People”, “Fall Of Rome”, “Hammerhead” & many more.
Having recently returned to Australia from being based in the U.S. and touring Europe with Cat Power, J.R. wasted no time, releasing Baby Tonight to the airwaves (Triple M Artist of the Week), and landing the lead in Paul Kelly’s musical ‘Deeper Water’ with costar Missy Higgins.
Reyne recorded the accompanying album in Auckland this year at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios, just before returning to Australia to open for US hitmakers ‘Train’ on their sellout national tour. Having previous starring roles in shows such as Neighbours, Winners & Losers, and most recently on Channel Seven’s number one TV show ‘The Secret Daughter’, alongside Jessica Mauboy. The accompanying, ARIA #1 Record’s The Secret Daughter & The Secret Daughter 2 Soundtrack’s – which feature hits performed by Reyne and Mauboy, such as Good Times, Rocks & Plans – earned Reyne an ARIA nomination.
J.R.’s album Go On Easy is out now everywhere, as well as a string of single’s that he’s been releasing directly from his home studio during 2020’s lockdown. Having kept busy during the last year with his popular IG-live show “Everyday Is Like Sunday”, as well as with his successful podcast “Free Falling’, we can safely say that J.R. is beyond excited to get back out there and do what he does best - PLAY LIVE!
