About

After their popular set in 2013, and on the back of a brand new album release in 2016, Bluesfest welcomes back Rock/Country/Blues hybrid Tedeschi Trucks Band.  The supergroup-come-meeting- of- the- minds of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi has soared to incredible heights since the amalgamation in 2011 with Revelator, Tedeschi Trucks Band’s 2011 studio debut, which cemented the promise of great things with a Best Blues Album Grammy and a Blues Music Award for Album of the Year. Their live follow-up Everybody’s Talkin’—documenting what many regarded as one of the most superb concert acts around—continued that forward momentum, scoring a Blues Music Award for Best Rock Blues Album.

They have risen to become ‘the great band from the south’; they now sell out multiple theatre runs - even arenas - fast becoming the torch bearer for southern rock music today. TTB’s strength is in numbers—the band comprises 11 members—and a wide range of influences. Susan has been praised for her insightful song writing, galvanizing, emotive vocals and her blues-informed, gutsy guitar style. And that singing voice is like none other on the scene today. Derek’s wicked guitar work, both electric and acoustic, is recognized globally. Rolling Stone listed him as number 16 on the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list (the youngest living player on the list). Formally of The Allman Brothers Band, he has played alongside Herbie Hancock, Bob Dylan, Buddy Guy, Willie Nelson, & Levon Helm, among many others. With Susan, he has performed at the United Nations in New York and at the White House for the First Family, and they have co-headlined with B.B. King at the Hollywood Bowl. This powerful, talented group will rock the Bluesfest audience – we can’t wait!
