With a career now motoring along in its third unique decade, Tim Rogers remarkable resume encompasses the world of Music, Film, Television and Stage.

As the frontman of You Am I, one of the essential Australian rock n’ roll bands, guitarist and vocalist Tim Rogers along with band mates Russell Hopkinson on drums, Andy Kent on Bass, and  (since 1999) Davey Lane on guitar, have released ten studio albums to date.  Three of these releases have debuted at number one on the ARIA charts in consecutive order – 1995’s “Hi Fi Way”, 1996’s “Hourly, Daily” and 1998’s “#4 Record” – with the Albums also receiving multiple Platinum and Gold status for commercial sales. 

2013 saw You Am I reissue remastered versions of their first three albums, Sound As Ever, Hi Fi Way and Hourly Daily, complete with extra tracks including never-before-released live material, Demo’s, alternate versions and B’sides. In support of these releases You Am I presented live performances of Hourly Daily and Hi Fi Way back-to-back in a lush theatre-styled extravaganza. You Am I sold over 10,000 tickets in Sydney and Melbourne alone, and this sold out run of national shows proved to be one of the most successful tours in the bands long and illustrious career.

In addition to success in Australia, You Am I have released a number of albums internationally, and toured worldwide headlining shows across North America and Europe. Tim Rogers musical career has also produced side projects, collaborations and solo albums which include the release of his first solo album in 1999 (with backing band The Twin Set) “What Rhymes With Cars And Girls”. He followed up with two further releases with The Temperance Union, featuring Shane O'Mara on Guitar, Ian Kitney on Drums and Percussion, and Stuart Speed on Bass.  “Spit Polish” was released in 2004 followed by the double album entitled “Dirty Ron / Ghost Songs” in 2005, with the recordings featuring various special guests, such as Missy Higgins, Donna Simpson and Rebecca Barnard.

In 2006, Rogers teamed up with long-time friend Tex Perkins to form T'N'T, eventually releasing the album ”My Better Half”, a collection of acoustic originals and cover versions. 2007 saw Tim Rogers release his fourth solo album, (his first without a backing band) “The Luxury of Hysteria”, and his 2012 released his fifth and most recent solo album - and his second without a backing band - the critically acclaimed “Rogers Sings Rogerstein”. Whether as part of You Am I or as a solo artist since 1999, Tim Rogers has received 13 ARIA Awards, including Male Artist of the Year, Best Group, Best Independent Release and Album Of The Year.

In 2014 Tim Rogers continues to work on both solo material and new music with his band You Am I.
In recent years Rogers’ talent has been turned to Stage and Screen - both big and small.  His first silver screen acting experience was a small cameo role in Jane Campion’s “Holy Smoke”, followed by a role in Michael Weisler short film “Hunter Finkelstein”.  In 2013 he was cast in a larger role in the musical/thriller film “The Boy Castaways”, which featured Rogers and fellow Australian musician Megan Washington. Tim also appears in the feature film “Tracks” starring Mia Wasikowska which is due for release in March 2014.

Musically he has been involved with numerous soundtracks for Australian films over the course of his career: “the Idiot Box” soundtrack, together with Nick Launay, in 1999; the “Dirty Deeds” soundtrack in 2002 (You Am I also performed a cameo in the film); and “Wish You Were here”, a 2012 film starring Joel Edgerton. Rogers has frequently appeared as a television guest on programs such as “Rockwiz”, Rove Live”, “Talkin’ ‘bout Your Generation” and “The Fat”.  He appeared as "himself" in the second season of “The Micallef Programme”, in the "Be a Rock Star" episode of “Lawrence Leung’s Choose Your Own Adventure”, and also appeared in several episodes of the ABC television series “MDA” as a rock musician.

In 2013 Rogers hosted the music performance/interview show “Studio at the Memo”, and also fronted the in-house band The Syndicate performing with a slew of guest artists as they journeyed through the vibrant worlds of music, burlesque, cabaret and circus.  Later the same year Tim was a guest judge on “Exhumed” – the ABC talent show discovering 'at-home' musicians hosted by James Valentine. In 2009 he made his stage debut in the production of “Woyzeck”, a play directed by Michael Kantour, with music by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis. 2 Years later he co-wrote and composed the music for “The Story of Mary MacLane by Herself”, in which he also performed in the production alongside leading Australian actor Bojana Novakovic. In 2012, Rogers composed the score for Marion Potts's production of Federico García Lorca's “Blood Wedding” for Melbourne’s Malthouse Theatre.

Tim’s career has spanned over 2 decades  - not just across music, film Television and Theatre.  He is a published writer in the likes of The Age and The Monthly, and has encapsulated the passion of every AFL football fan as the face of the AFL final series on TV screens across the country.  He has stood in front of 50,000 screaming rock fans, but is just as at home playing an acoustic guitar and joking with the locals in a community run country town venue.
Hailing from a mining town in WA, Tim Rogers has spent his considerable energy over these very memorable years, taking his talents to the world.  And now in his early 40’s and with a kit bag of experience and wisdom under his belt, has become a fully formed truly modern Australian icon.
