The North Melbourne Football Club founded in 1869 is the fourth oldest club in the AFL and one of the oldest in the world. The club was inducted into the Victorian Football League in 1925 and is characterised by its inner-city location, working-class background, and a determination to succeed, even against the odds. The club has an envied culture and those lucky enough to have played in the royal blue and white are dubbed "Shinboners"; a term which dates back to the 19th-century and local abattoir-workers. Since 1950 they’ve been known as the Kangaroos, the club calls Arden Street in North Melbourne their home for training and administration, whilst Marvel Stadium is their home on gameday.
Southern Cross Station is located adjacent to Marvel Stadium and stops for both V-line and Metropolitan train lines. It is a short walk across the Spencer Street/Bourke Street pedestrian footbridge. Having opposition supporters in the cheer squad area is a recipe for disaster. Having opposition supporters in the members area is a recipe for disaster. Stop doing it.
As an AFL full member I was offered level 3 Aisle 48 row S seating for the North Melbourne v Carlton game on good Friday. My advice to anyone attending Marvel stadium and considering level 3 - don't bother taking the tickets. Stay home watch the game in the comfort of your own home, better option. As a full AFL member - thanks for nothing in offering full members level seating. Worst seats in the house.
With the temperature outside over 30 degrees, sitting on level 3. The roof was closed, packed stadium. I was ready to pad out from the heat after the 1st quarter. Spent the rest of the game outside the venue as it was cooler than inside. They must open the roof on the hot days out have some kind of cooling or at least ventilation
We chose the level two to watch the game and it definitely gave an excellent view of whole game. Good fund raising ideas that engaged a variety of communities and recognized the role of good health care for children and their families Shame team lost game but like all challenges it is important to move forward and focus on what was done well and learn from mistakes
Ticketmaster was great to deal with. We needed to change seats to include another family member wasn’t a problem at all. Unfortunately the game was dreadful.
It was a good experience to go and watch the football at marvel stadium north deserved it
Whilst I am an avid AFLW follower this was my first grand final. Was so so disappointed. The pre game entertainment fronted a stand that had next to no people and unable to view it in the screen due to sun. Then the after game presentations fronted a building that had nobody there. The entire crowd was basically behind the stage and once again had to watch it on a screen. Very disappointed supporter
Great seats and really good atmosphere al night . Pre game entertainment was great. Enjoyed the game and the atmosphere
Great venue, great game. Easy access. Amazing atmosphere
